MacOS Terminal authentication with fingerprint

Problem

When you want to use sudo on a command or get admin access on something, terminal always prompts for the password, but it is very annoying to enter the password all the time.

Steps

Open terminal and enter:

$ sudo vim /etc/pam.d/sudo
  • Add “auth sufficient pam_tid.so” on the top of the file (screenshot).
  • Save the file and exit (:w!).

Now open a new terminal window and try sudo on any command you should see the prompt for finger print and that should authenticate you.
